Some of the best space art was hidden in astronomy books. Those of the early 1960s had great pictures of manned exploration.

WOW! Just, WOW! I can't believe it! have been looking for this book for around 30 years. My father had this book and as a child I cut it up for the pictures. 40 years later, I still have quite a few of the images I callously cut from the book but no way to identify the book itself. I have looked for this book off and on over the years and just yesterday I spotted one of the illustrations on Pinterest. It was a dead link. But, through some internet detective work (thanks google image search), I found your fantastic blog. Thank you so much for giving me an early Christmas present. I've already ordered a copy and I won't be cutting out the images. You also have a new fan. Your blog is awesome! Tytyty!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for it too. My Grandfather kept it on the coffee table. It was a highlight of the voyage to their house tfor Thanksgiving. Thanks for reporting.
