Stories from Kukeleegua Town (1965)

A book of fantasy stories for children. I happen to like the artistic style and how the fantasy space ships are shown to inhabit the stories. They look like the drawings I made of rockets as a child.

Space : Tomorrow's Frontier (1958)

Space : Tomorrow's Frontier is a premium enclosed in Swift Premium Franks or Swift's Premium Bacon. It was packaged in a plastic envelope in these packages. A very small booklet 3" x 4".

So it's small and charming illustrations are dated but the size is perfect to stick into your pocket and carry around.

I really like the boy jumping over the house illustration. Imaging being able to go someplace and do that.

These pages concern the planets, comets, and meteorites. A tiny atlas of  a child's solar system. Click on the image to make them "readable" size.

Topo Gigio Astronauta (1962)

Topo Gigio Astronauta is number 2 in a 5 part series about this fictional puppet mouse ("Collana Carosello"). I like the photographic illustrations very much and the detail that was put into setting up each scene.

Those of you who are not familiar with Topo Gigio can go here.

To the Stars (1960)

To the Stars is a children's coloring book. Each page has a color illustration and the opposite page has a black and white outline of the art for the child to color in. The book is about how people learned to reach for space and I find the illustrations charming and kind of unique for the older technology.
