Topo Gigio Astronauta (1962)

Topo Gigio Astronauta is number 2 in a 5 part series about this fictional puppet mouse ("Collana Carosello"). I like the photographic illustrations very much and the detail that was put into setting up each scene.

Those of you who are not familiar with Topo Gigio can go here.

TWA Rockets in Space!!!!

  1. Always great to see photo stories with models used in them. The rocket in the first part is Disneys TWA Moonliner and the model in the final shot is Quercetti's TOR 70 Catapult launched rocket.

  2. Just noticed the toy trumpet on the left side of the photograph inside the space capsule!

  3. and some Lone Star frogmen on the moon landing photo! The parachute for the TOR rocket is just above Topo's head in the last photo and the TWA rockets leg is just visible on the lower left. I wonder if these are still from a stop motion animation?
