Junior Scholastic "Christmas on Mars" (December 2,1959)

Merry Christmas from Dreams of Space!

Something seasonal for you from Junior Scholastic December 2, 1959. Junior Scholastic was a school weekly aimed at junior high and high school students.

The cover was not much but I thought this poem would be nice to share along with a spaceflight advertisement.

As I said the second item is a two page ad from General Electric. Enjoy and have a great holiday!

The Junior Argus November 19 "We're Taking You Out Into Space..." (1954)

As far as I can tell The Junior Argus was a juvenile newspaper published in Australia. I happen to like this particular issue for its Chesley Bonestell painting and interesting text. The section began on page 21 because it was part of a larger paper (The Argus) and distributed with it on Fridays and this was the "children's" section. I like the breathless writing style.

Machine (1959)

I think this is a children's mechanical engineering encyclopedia.  It has a number of very nice color futuristic illustrations.

Machine. Moscow. 510 p.  27 cm. 1959

 A short article about Sputniks

 Massive construction equipment

This looks like an electromagnetic launch system.

In the future there will be giant bridges
 Robot classrooms
Huge trains that cross the country

and  tiny robots that will help children "Dream of Space."
