I Want To Be A Space Pilot (1961)

Happy People on the Moon day! (54 years since 1st landing)

I Want To Be A Space Pilot is part of a series of children's books called "I want to be..." They are essentially a beginning to read career book. I like the very basic illustrations and the straightforward text. I also like that beginning level books about space flight can be too simplistic but this has enough facts to hold a child's interest. I don't think I have ever blogged about this book before.

A Book of Moon Rockets for You (1959

Happy People on the Moon day! (54 years since 1st landing)

Here is a great story of how we WANTED to land on the Moon. It has wonderful illustrations and I am happy to share on this day of celebration of a landing.

Sky-Hi: A Trip Into Space with Terry (1952)

Mara.  Sky-Hi: A Trip Into Space With Terry. Personal History Agency : NY. 22 p. 1952

It came in a nice gift box with a space quiz. It is a little bit of an odd astronomy book. The illustrations are very beautiful and if you notice each planet has smaller people in the picture to indicate the number of moons.  I like how Mara gave each of the planets (and the Sun) a personality.  I hope you enjoy this slightly less space flight oriented early space book.
