Space Ship to the Moon (1952)

Happy New Year!

A "Space Ship to the Moon" is your present for a new year. I really like the illustrations in this book. The story is OK but the visions of spacecraft, a space station and mining on the Moon are worth seeing. This is a relatively low cost book used so if you like it it is easy to search out a copy.

The Jolly Jump-ups Journey Through Space (1952)

Sorry for the delays in posting, I have been on a short vacation. So today is one of my favorite (and obscure) fictional pop-up books about space. A really beautifully illustrated 1952 book with some amazing text to accompany it, The Jolly Jump-ups Journey Through Space!

Sky-Hi: A Trip Into Space with Terry (1952)

Mara.  Sky-Hi: A Trip Into Space With Terry. Personal History Agency : NY. 22 p. 1952

It came in a nice gift box with a space quiz. It is a little bit of an odd astronomy book. The illustrations are very beautiful and if you notice each planet has smaller people in the picture to indicate the number of moons.  I like how Mara gave each of the planets (and the Sun) a personality.  I hope you enjoy this slightly less space flight oriented early space book.
