Beyond Mars (1960)

Here is the last book in the "space quartet", Beyond Mars. It takes a large survey of the next steps in space including: solar sailing, travel to Saturn via long distance trips to the outer solar system, multi-year hibernation travel, hydroponics, and visiting other solar systems.

  1. Fascinating discussion of a solar sailing multi-probe to Jupiter. Surprising insights in the early Space Age.

  2. I was able to acquire this book from my childhood library around 2009. Only one other person had checked it out since I had last done so in 1974…and that was in 1978. Books like this were and still are wondrous to me and have inspired my life-long interest in and passion for space exploration.
