I thought the idea of salvaging wrecked space probes (and the drawing of astronauts using a space towtruck to cart away a wreck) brilliant. Robinson's drawing skills were very good, and he had an excellent sense of design that shows in both his imagined hardware and his visual composition. I also like his choice of medium: white gouache and ink washes (a standard technique of commercial artists in the 1950s and '60s). Economical for the publisher, but nonetheless evocative.Tom Heringhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12350251957104818496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14054226668349070.post-63038646489010819482010-03-16T18:22:09.804-07:002010-03-16T18:22:09.804-07:00I'm very much looking forward to seeing the Be...I'm very much looking forward to seeing the Beyond Mars volume.

-- Michael S.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14054226668349070.post-83603913684955127432010-03-16T15:36:35.758-07:002010-03-16T15:36:35.758-07:00John, your blog gives me so much joy, I feel like ...John, your blog gives me so much joy, I feel like a kid again :)
I don't comment very often but wanted to drop in and say thanks.
r/eJay Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13482261288019583877noreply@blogger.com
